What happens when a rich and diverse hub of creativity comes up against a stoic and rigid obstacle? Is this the case of an irresistible force versus an immovable object?

In this instance it is actually the citizens of California who are taking on the federal state in the hope of making history en route to the end of cannabis prohibition. Come November 2010, Californians will be at the ballot box with the power to change the rules on cannabis, its manufacture and its consumption. Proposition 19 is cause for much debate and has as lengthy a list of supporters as it does detractors.

Being California and being cannabis however it was only to be expected that there would be some kind of creative commentary on this issue. Award winning artist Haik Hoisington has made this short allegorical film to weigh in on such a controversial piece of state legislature. Great animation, story well told and maybe a litmus test for what is to come.
