Gorgeous Visualisations Of The Anthropocene Era [INFOGRAPHIC]
What is the Anthropocene?
The Anthropocene is an informal geologic chronological term that’s recently come about to mark the evidence and extent of human kinds’ activities on the Earth’s ecosystems. It was coined by Eugene Stoermer and was popularised by Nobel Prize winning atmospheric chemist Paul Crutzen, who views our impact over the last couple centuries as so significant as to constitute a new geological era for our home planet; particularly its lithosphere.
And below are two gorgeous visuals by Globaïa whose mission statement desribes them to be:
“a global education organization whose mission is to foster a consistent and informed participation of citizens in environmental issues by understanding the multiple dimensions of today’s world and its likely future. “
Well, they’ve made a friend in Urban Times.
