Electric Car Charging Points On The Rise

Source: autoblog.com

If you haven’t noticed there’s a real swing in the marketplace towards electric cars at the moment with most car manufacturers bringing out some form of non-fuel car. This is all well and good but without charging points many potential buyers still suffer ‘range anxiety‘. This is the fear of running out of juice when you’re away from home and could ultimately be embarrassing being towed home by a gas guzzler.

Fear not however as Brighton based company Elecktromotive has today announced that they will be rolling out some 4,000 charging points across the UK to be added to the 687 already in place. This means that you’ll be able to roll up to a charging point in your new electric car and top up the battery for just a few pennies which serves as an enormous saving over the usual £50 to £100 price tag on an average tank of petrol.

Managing Director of Elektromotive, Calvey Taylor-Haw, told the press that the new stations represent ‘a positive step towards the development of a nationwide EV recharging infrastructure’ going on to say ‘If the automotive industry is to convince motorists of the viability of electric vehicles as every day transport, privately operated schemes such as this will be essential, both now and in the longer term.’

Additionally, the Government in the UK continues it’s generous £5,000 credit off the price of a new electric car and with the rising number of charging points. It is a great time to go green.
