Journey into the Beautiful
A few days back we published “Earth, Starscapes and Nebulae by Vladislav Solojov“, along with two videos by the graphic designer and up-and-coming special effects guru, 19-year old Vladislav Solovjov. Today he released his best work yet, “Journey into the Beautiful”; an artistic vision comprising more stunning scenes in space. He comes from Russia and although his English is a little rusty (far better than our Russian mind you!), this time, we got the chance to ask him a little about himself and his process.
Vladislav says he made “Journey” using Maxon Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop. This is all the more impressive considering he still goes to college and has been working in this field for the surprisingly brief period of one year. He has already had offers from some major corporations wishing to use his skills for video promotions. Beforehand he used to mess around making simple pictures on Adobe Photoshop or using high-def Google images as the basis for something new. Vladislav is a self-professed autodidact, meaning he is his own teacher.
When creating his work, Vladislav draws his inspiration from such sci-fi films as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Avatar as well as Google’s image archive and of course the key ingredient; his own fantasies. When asked how he creates his work, he said:
“You should feel the picture, the colors. Just imagine. Think about the beautiful and draw it on the screen. And the most important thing? Music! Music helps me to work. Journey took me about one month to complete and a couple of weeks for the concepts”
His love of music extends to classical, jazz, electro, punk-rock, and industrial and he profeses to love Celldweller, Blue Stahli, Mozart, Strauss, Akira Yamaoka and hits from the 80′s and 90′s. The music on “Journey” was by Jessye Norman, Beim Schlafengehen and Richard Strauss.
We will continue to keep you updated on Vladislav’s work, but for now enjoy the view from your spaceship’s porthole and marvel at the vast starscapes and lush planets on your journey.
