Exclusive Ken Livingstone: London, Newts and Atheism

There are 149 days left until the London Mayoral Elections, where current Mayor Boris Johnson and former Mayor Ken Livingstone will replay their 2008 battle.

With that in mind, Urban Times‘ Jono Namara got to know Ken in this intimate interview behind the scenes in London Zoo. Amidst the discussion of politics, policy, Boris, and why he thinks the city is getting worse, we got to know Ken the amphibian aficionado, and Ken the atheist.

Editor’s Note:

We have already conducted this interview with Boris Johnson, however we only had a brief moment with him. Would you like to see something more intimate?

Brilliant interview - whens the next one? Dont think Ken is schizophrenic when talking about the London tube - we have an expensive system that doesnt run effectively - never has though even when he was mayor - so no changes there! Roads are all being dug up again and again all over London, so the congestion is hardly traffic volume just inadequate planning of road works - westminster suggesting this 'congestion' at night needs to be controlled - oh and fill their pockets at the same time - whereas we are a City and we should come alive at night, the retailers, restaurants, clubs and theatres make London the thriving interesting City it is so come on Ken and Boris stop Westminster from cashing in and losing what little extra money people have at the moment for entertainment. We should be encouraging people to come into town, private or public transport. Well done Urban times for the interview - lets have more

Very interesting and engaging interview. Great job!

Really interesting interview!

Ken should stay in the reptile house where he belongs, maybe together with Red Ed!

Boris' Transport adviser said that Ken was "schizophrenic" for thinking he could cut fares without wrecking London Tube (Evening Standard) | http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-mayor/arti...

Nice Interview, very enjoyable! Don't you think he spent too much time knocking down Boris, instead of justifying his self? We need someone fresher to run London, Ken has had his time.

really interesting interview! love the backdrop of the Zoo and great range of questions, good job!

Great interview! Well done guys!
