LOVE
Love changes you. It turns you-
Obsessive and sick. It is malicious,
Vile and vicious. It makes you vulnerable,
Emotional and it pierces your heart.

As the consumer world has gone into “super cringe hyper-drive” on the run up to Valentine’s Day, I thought writing a poem inspired by heartache, concentrating on the negatives of attraction would be of far more interest. This poem has something important to say about reality and although love is blind, we have eyes and should use them more often. Love is not always the honey and life can be bitter. We should look beyond first appearances.
The image below is one I took of sea birds snuggling on a steep cliff edge, painting love as typical and predictable on the surface, but they must watch; for if they make the wrong decisions the cliffs could mean their end. Love can be dangerous and reality can be unexpected.
