Union Station: A Century Later and Still Beautiful

Union Station: A Century’s Overview

Union Station is an amazing building. Located in Worcester Massachusetts in the United States, it was first built in 1911, when the train station enjoyed activity for decades until the railroad industry began to decine.

In 1975, the owner of the station abandoned the property and for 20 years it was not used and the building deteriorated. The building was aquired by the Worcester Redevelopement Authority in 1995. The train station underwent total renovation and was reopened in July of 2000. The station is stunning with “Grand Halls” original elliptical stained-glass ceilings, interior marble columns and mahogany wood trim.

Union Station is known as “The city’s most beautiful building.” I have to agree and it is a pleasure to view and use for traveling destinations.

Editor’ Prompt: Send in a photo-story of an amazing building in your city.
