Currently I work as a Social Planner for The City of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, conducting socio-economic research and social policy development. My research and policy interests are focused on social sustainability, with specific expertise in issues of economic security, diversity and the labour force. Prior to working with The City, I worked across Canada as an adult educator, union organizer, counsellor and immigrant settlement worker. I hold a graduate degree in Rural Planning from the University of Guelph, a B.A. in Political Studies from McGill University and am a Registered Social Worker in the Province of Alberta. I currently chair the Social Policy Committee of the Alberta New Democratic Party.
